top five posts of the year 2021 from Making A Lather

Cheryl has an interesting idea for looking back at 2021 and to share what we think are our best 5 blog posts for the year.

1.baby snoopy 5/21snoopy 5/21

baby snoopy has the most views. My thanks to cynthia at quilting is more fun than housework for the pattern. I've made 3 and each one turns out great.
This was a rainbow scrap challenge at so scrappy. My thanks to Angela for the inspiration of the challenge.

rainbow quilt finish from Making A Lather

I took 2 years of sewing with the rainbow scrap challenge at so scrappy to make the pieces for this single  Irish chain by melissa correy. I made the 4 patches in 2019, and the sashings in 2020 according to the color of the month. The top was a top in  November 2020. It was an easy, unstressful pattern, and then, it was a great quilt.

I used a light gray sheet for the back, and natural white thread. I made a scrappy binding and attached it by machine. I used a paisley pantograph for the quilting. It's 84 ...

to do: one monthly goal from Making A Lather

It's December already. We had a few snow drops, yesterday, as it threatens to be winter. I made it to the gym three times last week, and, I went yesterday. So far, no problems. I know it is time to set new goals for the month for my quilting. I still feel a little sluggish from the change of time zones. So, I think I will keep it simple and plan on finishing a quilt that is ready to be quilted. If I get more done than that ...yippee.

I want to complete traffic jam

ready to quilt

I ...

irish webbed from Making A Lather

I webbed the Irish chain quilt at retreat last week. This was one of my rainbow scrap challenge projects. I have worked on it for 2 years.

I spent this week pinning rows and sewing the  top together. It is ready for a back and some binding.

zigging from Making A Lather

I had one last row to do for the row by row quilt.  I dug out turquoise scraps and cut 3 1/2 inch hsts. I made the row, and, started joining rows.

I pieced the top, cut the back, and prepared the binding. It is waiting a turn on the longarm.

All ready to quilt

I am looking to finish webbing the Irish chain quilt at retreat today. I worked on it yesterday, and started webbing the top. I am a little worried that I am too nosy to be working on something that needs a little more attention ...

more yellow sunshine from Making A Lather

If it were not for the yellow in my rainbow scrap challenge blocks, there would be no sunshine in Indiana these days. We have had dreary dark days already. with a twinge of cold. Hubby had to clean out the garden with the threat of frost.  I have had a cold. How do you catch a cold in this sterile world these days.?

I am moving along on my blocks for October. It's hard to think, we are almost done with the challenge for 2020. I have a small basket of ufos to work on for next year. Most ...

red irish chain block from Making A Lather

The red blocks for my Irish chain quilt are ready, and, all I need are the yellows. I have worked on this quilt over the last two years for the rainbow scrap challenge. The first year, I did the 4 patches, and, this year, I am making the blocks.

This was a friend Linda's quilt - smith mountain morning -in red and brown. We took the Bonnie hunter class together in Lafayette. Mine was gray and yellow. I quilted hers in red.

I have started putting the joining the rainbow row x row quilt, and finished the 2nd red row ...

to do: catch up from Making A Lather

I didn't get this purple group of blocks posted last month, during purple at the rainbow scrap challenge. These blocks are part of my rainbow irish chain, that, I have been adding to each month since last year. Last year, I made the 4 patches, and, this year, I am making the bigger block. I was inspired by this quilt.

There have been several months that I did not need to work on it, as the colors for the month were not in my quilt. As we get closer to the finish ( I only need yellow), I am wondering ...
